The Men of Distinction Foundation of Hempstead’s programs are rooted in service, compassion, and community. From scholarships and youth mentorship to food and clothing distributions, health awareness initiatives, and community celebrations, each program is designed to meet real needs, uplift families, and strengthen connections across Hempstead and surrounding communities. Together, our work reflects a commitment to dignity, unity, and lasting impact.
National Night Out is an annual community event at Denton Green Park, hosted in partnership with the Village of Hempstead, that brings residents, police, and local vendors together for food, school supplies, giveaways, voter registration, and family-friendly activities that promote unity, trust, and community connection.
The annual MODFH Scholarship Dinner celebrates graduating high school seniors from Nassau County by honoring their academic achievements and providing financial support to help ease the cost of their first year of college.
The annual MODFH Halloween Candy Giveaway provides a safe and welcoming space for Nassau County families to enjoy Halloween, offering free candy, food, and entertainment while bringing the community together for a fun and secure night of trick-or-treating.
Each year, MODFH hosts its Pink Tie initiative to honor those impacted by cancer, raise awareness, and provide financial support to survivors and individuals facing ongoing medical expenses.
Each year, MODFH provides 100 families across Nassau County with a 20-lb turkey and all the holiday sides, delivering meals directly to their homes to ensure families can enjoy a warm and dignified celebration.
MODFH’s Black History Month program at the lodge features a guest speaker, spoken word performances, heritage dancing, live vocals, and refreshments to celebrate culture, history, and community.
MODFH sponsored the Uniondale Youth Baseball league and the Roosevelt Youth football league
The MODFH Friends & Family BBQ brings the community together at a local state park for a fun-filled day of food, fellowship, and quality time with family and friends.
MODFH proudly supported the first day of school at Washington Rose Elementary School in the Roosevelt School District by welcoming K–6 students to a red-carpet experience and positive energy, to kick off the new school year alongside Dr. Clyde A. Braswell, Principal.
During the holiday season, MODFH hosts an annual Christmas Toy Caravan, distributing gifts throughout the Village of Hempstead and providing toys to families across Nassau County to help spread joy during the holidays.
